When we began our journey of digitizing small and medium businesses at Ghoshak, one thing became clear: Point-of-Sale (POS) systems play a critical role in helping a business transition from pen-and-paper to digital operations.
But there was a challenge. The POS market was already crowded. From large players to niche start-ups, everyone was offering complex solutions with dozens of features. At first, we were hesitant to enter this space. Did the market really need another POS?
As we spent more time with small business owners, we found our answer. Most of them didn’t need a feature-rich system. They needed a simple, reliable way to bill their customers, preferably from a mobile phone. They wanted to know how much they were earning each day, manage basic inventory, and move away from hand written bills. But they didn’t want the complexity, training, or high cost that came with traditional POS systems.
